📺 Crash Course: From Alchemy to Chemistry
Chemistry grew out of the ancient scientific and mystical pursuit known as alchemy. Here is a short account of the history of alchemy in the Middle Ages.
The labs of the alchemists slowly but surely evolved into the modern chemistry laboratory as scientific methods of analysis successfully isolated chemical elements and a comprehensive account of the hidden rules governing chemical interaction was slowly and painstakingly built. Here is the crash course version of the rise of modern chemistry.
I liked how the first video about alchemy it talked about what alchemy is and how after a certain number of years it evolved into chemistry. I like how in the second episode it broke down modern chemistry and started talking about chemical reactions that were colorless, odorless, self repulsive hard to measure fluids, because I didn’t know that’s how chemical reactions started out until I watched this video.
i enjoyed the fact that this crash course broke down the bringing origin of alchemy. and showed us how the different elements came together. I also didn’t know that each of the planets had its own metal.
This crash course was very interesting to watch due to the fact that it described in easy terms alchemy and how it paved the path for chemistry to become as important as it has today. It was interesting to learn about the history of science and how It started becoming more okay to shift away from religious ideologies and more into research and investigation and debate. It was also interesting to find out how encyclopedias came about and how all the knowledge that they were learning they were scripting and putting down on paper for the better of the people. It was interesting to see how alchemy went through its’ own evolution into what chemistry is today.
I liked how the crash course video thoroughly explained the origin of alchemy and how it soon evolved to chemistry. I also learned that different planets have their own different metals and materials.
