Here is another great video from Crash Course, this time on the basic concepts of argumentation and reasoning especially as they appear in a philosophical context.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video as it was highly entertaining as well as informative. Crash Course always does a great job simplifying a difficult or untalked-about topic and breaking it down so people can understand it better. I particularly liked the barber example. I had to go back to understand it but when I first saw read the example it really made me try and think about what they meant.

I really enjoyed this video because it was very informative and broke down the meaning of how to argue so that anyone who is watching can understand it. Crash Course never fails to impress me, I always feel like I know more about a topic after watching a crash course video. Overall I thought the video was very entertaining and had a lot to say about how to argue and different types of arguments that make statements valid or invalid.

I think crash course creates a lot of well written content. This information was easy to absorb, and I learned a good bit throughout. The view philosophers had for arguments was different from the general public. They produce facts and contents instead of making a witty comment.

Crash courses are a great way to learn something quick, this was something that I did not know much about. I feel I usually have a solid argument and think thorouly about what I want to say before I argue about it but watching this video gave some tips that I have never considered.

I really enjoyed this video because I found it very relatable and informative. I think many of us are guilty of raising our voice, becoming loud and angry or even making witty comebacks while trying to make points during an argument. I know I am definitely guilty of this. Watching this video has made me realize that when you argue properly by focusing your arguments on strong reasoning, you are more likely to be convincing and persuasive to those you are arguing with. Additionally, more people will listen to you. I also enjoyed learning about Platoโ€™ theory of how reason can and should function in the human mind, aka the tripartite soul.

Early on in high school I watched a ton of these in my history and science classes and they’re lowkey entertaining because of how fast someone can explain something along with all of the visuals. Crash course is amazing when it comes to less talked about topics because as a student we’re learning, and the people putting out the videos have a well understanding of the topic so when they use visuals and a language that we can easily understand, it makes the learning curve much less.

I found this video interesting because I didnโ€™t realize how much I use arguments on a day-to-day basis. When I think about getting into an argument with someone I think about having an angry conversation that may escalate to yelling, although an argument can be something as simple as persuading your mom to let you stay out later. The video discusses how having a strong argument is not about shouting louder or having quick comebacks but itโ€™s about the actual information you have to back up your reasoning which is something I have realized as I have gotten older.
