I thought it was really interesting how it was important to have a healthy mind and body to the greeks. I was into greek mythology a lot when I was younger and I never knew this.

I also thought it was interesting of how important it was to keep a health body and mind to the Greeks because it always seemed to help in the long run. Overall I thought the video did a great job in demonstrating what the Greeks had in mind when they came up with all their ideas.

After watching this video I think it was interesting to learn that there were different groups of people who thought ahead in problem solving. Those who particularly thought about stress and panic probably made the future generations a bit more open to the idea that bad things do happen. I couldn’t imagine an era where nobody thought like this. If one bad thing had happened then what would happen to everyone who was directly impacted by it? would it have caused mass panic? wWho knows, I am just glad that these people passed this knowledge down through the generations.

I found the tragedy part of this video the most interesting. The Greek people believed it was important for everyone to witness some type of gorey moment. or a tragedy. The Greeks honored these tragedies and held week-long festivals. I feel like they did this to mentally strengthen their people. Nowadays everyone is weak, and when something awful happens more often than not, we tend to get hung up on that thing and let it affect us.

It’s very eyeopening to see how vastly differently Greeks lived from us. Although there are some similarities between our two societies, it’s fascinating how Greeks were encouraged to question things and not just accept everything that happens in the way Americans do in the 21st century.

Ancient Greece has never failed to amaze me. As I tapped into Ancient Greek Naturalism it is astonishing to know more about the basis of the human mind and body with the best arguments questioned by philosophers of the past. Greeks seemed to be quite knowledgeable with themselves. Thus the phrase, “a healthy body is a healthy mind”. No wonder why they were so noble with their buildings, culture, and overall history.

This video really puts into perspective that many features of todayโ€™s modern society was mainly derived from Greek culture, such as Democracy, Architecture, and the Olympic Games. One thing that I found really interesting is that the Greeks thought it was extremely important for everyone to regularly witness a certain sort of gory tale that they called a โ€œtragedyโ€. The Greeks rationale is when people see tragic works on a regular basis, this will counter their strong inclination to judge and moralize.

I enjoyed how this video showed that even back then people were quick to judge, even if it were someone of high power and wealth. When the narrator mentioned how Aristotle thought it was important for everyone to see tragedy so they can have their own thoughts about what happened, really ties into today’s world. People will believe what they hear rather than what they see.

It was interesting to hear about ancient Greece because I am greek and Greece is on my top list of places that I want to visit in the future. I think knowing about the history would make it even more amazing when I hopefully visit one day. Freshmen year my English class read a lot about greek mythology and I forgot how much I enjoyed learning about it and the different ideals they have.

It is hard for me to understand the obsession with tragedy back in ancient greek times. You even see this today in cultures. I do like seeing all of the tragic works of art representing these events. The human race has always found ways of finding morality in tragedy and violence.

What I found interesting about this video was how sacred the body is to the Greeks and how well they treat their bodies. Now I know one of the reasons the Greeks were so powerful.

I enjoyed the idea that the ideal hero in ancient greek has flaws and makes mistakes but yet is still considered a hero. In addition, I enjoyed how it made the comparison to today’s modern celebrities and greeks heroes saying in the media things have changed drastically and that people in the spotlight are judged on every little thing they do. I think the Greeks had a forward-thinking society that we could model after today.
