I really liked reading these articles and watching the videos about all these explorers, speculators, mathematicians and philosophers because it gave me a lot of information that I didn’t know about these guys or things that I that I forgot they were known for. Overall I really liked this article and what it had to say about Pythagoras, Socrates and all the other amazing guys that made our world what it is today.
This is a great start to our topic. I think having this timeline of events is important for us to have because background information on how things have started is key for us to continue building our knowledge base. Personally, over the years of learning about greek naturalism in the early years of school, things become mixed up and the time line becomes forgotten. I like how now I can form a rough idea of when things happened and where.
Also, having an interactive blog post with slides plus videos makes the learning experience more interesting.

I agree with Sylvie down in the comments. I feel like having an accurate timeline of influential greek philosophers, mathematicians, and speculators will help us have a better understanding of where the ideology comes from. And the timeline was extremely informative.
All of these different philosophical ideas are so interesting as some of them totally contrast what we believe today due to modern science but also how some are so comparable to today’s beliefs.
I think that timelines are very important to understand because we can learn a lot from the past. it allows us to learn from past mistakes that people have done whether is infrastructure, health, and science, math, or even astronomy. over all the past is crucial for a better future that’s why looking back is worth it.
Seeing the timelines for the different events that were happening around this time gave me a better idea of how long the philosophers, mathematicians, and scientists of this time period had been cultivating things and ideas that are still used today. It is crazy to think how even though they were considered crazy in their lifetime now they are considered so important in things like philosophy and math. It is incredible also to think about how smart they were to cultivate ideas such as the ones they had with such a lack of technology. It is sad though how religion was considered the absolute truth for most things and curiosity for the unknown was viewed as incorrect or unlawful. I am glad that their names are still in history and these incredible geniuses are still remembered today though.
It’s very cool to me to see all these ancient philosophical figures and learn their beliefs from their time period and compare it to ours. The science nowadays is quite interesting when comparing to these people.
It is so interesting to me to see how far back the concept of naturalism goes and has been recorded. Life is so different now then back in ancient greek times, but philosophers still existed but have always been so determined to understand how the universe works. I enjoyed this slideshow and the timeline format.
I was fascinated by these articles because I found it interesting how much of an influence ancient Greek naturalism had. Reading about the articles and watching the videos about all of the different philosophers and explorers grabbed my attention because they all had interesting and impressive backgrounds.
One of the most interesting parts of the slideshow was Zeno’s paradox. I learned about some of the ancient greeks philosophies but this one was new to me. It was definitely was a little hard to grasp and make sense as something someone could actually argue that nothing is but an illusion.
